Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, MK Stalin, has announced a generous reward of Rs 5 crore to the 18-year-old chess prodigy D. Gukesh for his groundbreaking achievement in the world of chess.

Gukesh recently made history by becoming the youngest World Chess Champion, a feat that has brought immense pride to the nation, especially Tamil Nadu, his home state. He emphasized that the award not only honors Gukesh’s achievement but also strengthens India’s legacy in global chess. “To honor the monumental achievement of D. Gukesh, the youngest-ever World Chess Champion, I am delighted to announce a cash prize of Rs 5 crore! His historic victory has brought immense pride and joy to the nation,” CM Stalin wrote.
